Professor Munjed Al Muderis is an orthopaedic surgeon, human-rights advocate and a clinical lecturer at Macquarie University and The Australian School Of Advanced Medicine. Dr Al Muderis specialises in hip, knee, trauma, reconstruction and osseointegration surgery. He has expertise in hip arthroscopy, hip resurfacing, minimally invasive hip arthroplasty (primary total hip replacements) knee arthroplasty (primary total knee replacements) and reconstruction of recurrent patellar dislocations. He is also a world leading surgeon in the field of osseointegration surgery. In 2014 Munjeds memoir 'Walking' Free was published and his second book 'Going Back' was published in early 2019. In 2020, he was NSW state recipient Australian of the year.
