Dr. DiTano grew up in the heart of Pittsburgh and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with Summa Cum Laude honors completing two separate Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Neurobehavioral Science. He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, graduating with the Hewlett Packard Top Medical Graduate Award. Dr. DiTano then trained in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA, ranked among the best in the country. He then completed a hand and microvascular fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital. He was actively involved in training young doctors in hand surgery as an Attending physician at Allegheny General Hospital and the University of Pittsburgh as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
