Amazon Fresh has joined the growing ranks of retailers that are cutting prices. It is discounting thousands of grocery items in a bid to entice price-conscious shoppers to add a little bit more to their shopping carts.

While Walmart has greatly improved its offerings, it will never offer the same selection as Amazon. Because of that, the brick-and-mortar retail giant has tried to make its paid subscription service a better deal than Amazon's in a number of ways.

Target has slashed prices to 1,500 items and plans to cut prices for thousands more as inflation cuts into household budgets and more Americans pay closer attention to their spending. Target and other retailers are increasingly catering to customers who are struggling with higher prices for groceries,
