U.S. online spending is experiencing a rebound, spurred by high gas prices, convenient delivery options and a surge in deals following a brief post-pandemic slump, U.S. retailers say.

Amazon Fresh has joined the growing ranks of retailers that are cutting prices. It is discounting thousands of grocery items in a bid to entice price-conscious shoppers to add a little bit more to their shopping carts.

Target said Wednesday that its customers reduced spending on groceries and home goods as concern about high prices persisted last quarter.

Earlier this month, supermarket Aldi said it was dropping prices on more than 250 items. Walmart has this year used its 'rollback' promise to cut prices and, like Kroger, has invested in improving its own-label ranges.
