The Gastonia Police Department was called to a home on Dix where a woman and her boyfriend were involved in a domestic dispute. During the disagreement, detectives say the boyfriend, David V. McDowell III shot and killed his girlfriend. The victim was identified on Monday as 19-year-old Zanayah White.

Shortly after a woman exchanged gunfire with police Saturday afternoon, there were two more shootings, one fatal, the Gastonia Police Department said.
