Following a new deal with Universal Music Group, artists like Taylor Swift, Drake and Lady Gaga are returning to TikTok.

Music from dozens of the industry's biggest stars, including Taylor Swift, is available on TikTok again as of Thursday after Universal Music Group and TikTok reached a new licensing agreement that includes improved pay for the recording music giant's songwriters and artists.

In recent weeks, videos across the site have been muted after Universal Music Group pulled any licensed tracks from the platform. That was the result of a fallout between Universal Music Group and TikTok over the terms on which it licenses songs.

In a statement Thursday, UMG said the new licensing deal would lead to the return of its artists' music to TikTok.
