What's exciting about your job?
It's exciting to work on V1 projects and features. In Search, you really get to decide what gets created and shape how it gets created. It's also very cool to work on a project that everyone in the company talks about. It's sometimes a little nerve-wracking when demos come around, but exciting nevertheless.
What can a new hire expect when they arrive?
In addition to meeting a very awesome team of individuals, you'll be thrown into a project from the start. It can be overwhelming the amount of information to consume, but projects move quickly here, and it's important to get ramped up to speed as soon as possible. We do have some really great mentors to get you started.
What do you do for fun?
Like just about a third of us all do, I play
WoW. When it and work are not dominating my evenings, I'm hanging out with friends, playing
Halo 2, or crazying it up at music shows (most recently
M83,
LCD Soundsystem, and
Prefuse 73). Many of the folks in Search have similar interests - and all have an interest in having fun.
