Check out the Spud Ranch shop for other sizes Each piece approx 9oz and the price is for 1 piece from this size category Beautiful natural raw pieces of Alabaster mineral from the Mt Carmel Formation in southwest Utah. Alabaster is typically formed as an evaporite or vein mineral and is a carbonate with beautiful hues and tones of salmon and deep pink and white. These samples are in their raw state with some of the muddy shale host rock and gypsum present. Alabaster is very soft and can be carved, etched, or sanded easily. This makes a beautiful seed for your project, or a great display piece. It could be a very nice basking stone for a reptile, or the flat face could be etched with a design or name as a gift. Also perfect for wedding anniversary gifts. The alabaster originated in Mesozoic age mudstone and shale with veins of alabaster, gypsum, and other carbonate minerals. The southwest region of Utah is world renowned for the quality and scope of its mineral deposits.
