As the son of a clothier and a sugar wafer manufacturer, he trained as a bookbinder and established a bookbinding business. After his father's death, Fiedor abandoned his trades, bought a middle-class house and, in the spirit of family tradition, founded a modern bakery in Opava. His name became the model for the name of the popular cookie - Fidorky.
