Four suspects were arrested in connection with violent smash-and-grab robberies targeting jewelry stores across Southern California. The group is believed to be a part of an organized theft crime ring that stole over $1.

The year-long spree hit stores across the county and elsewhere in the state, resulting in $1.5 million in losses

"These are not victimless crimes," AG Rob Bonta said. "These thefts hurt businesses, small and large alike, and they pose a danger to workers and to the public."

At a Friday morning news conference, California Attorney General Rob Bonta said there were 21 separate thefts, most of which occurred in San Diego County.
